Olivier Maréchal: an outstanding experience

At 41-year-old, Olivier Maréchal is a brilliant jack of all trades. From an early age, he fell into trial biking. He was quickly crowned European champion and vice-World champion. Hardly had he sat in the seat of a kart, that he made a name for himself. In 1992, in spite of a very small experience in competition, he still became vice Champion of Europe in ICC-125cc gearbox (ex KZ2). The next year he began working with his father at Maréchal Motorsport. Today, the Belgian team manager perfectly manages the Kosmic team, by supplying with particularly competitive material and equipment to his pilots, but also by showing them how to make progress and by giving great inspirational speeches.

Expertise and craftsmanship

After running on a lot of international racetracks and being busy winning races, Olivier Maréchal's team has since become the official supplier of OTK kart parts. Sponsored by the OTK group for many years, it is a new step for Maréchal's team as they now offer their experience and expertise for all kart drivers. The OTK Group's objective is to see one of its brands win, whether it's Tony Kart, Kosmic or FA Kart. Nowadays, many drivers owe their success to the trust they put in our experienced team of experts.

OTK group and Vortex for partnership

Competition brought this effective team to always look for perfection and not to make any mistake. This determination reflects in the exceptional expertise and a very high-level quality work. OTK and Vortex are obviously part of the equation, as Olivier Maréchal mentions: " to collaborate with this prestigious Italian factory is an opportunity. They propose high-quality and competitive material and equipment year after year. Both with Vortex engines and OTK frames. Their manufacturing process, with robots welding frames, and the round-the-clock quality controls allow us to rely on an incredible regularity for performances ".

Maréchal a wel known name in the Karting's Wolrd

Of course, we cannot evoke Olivier Maréchal's team, without paying tribute to his father, Roland Maréchal, who made history the karting world and who disappeared in 2012. Many renowned technicians began at his side: Paul Lemmens, Jean-Pierre Tilkin, Alain Markiewicz or Pierre Dumont were lucky enough to work alongside him, before he started training his own son.
" He taught me everything, or almost ", confirms Olivier Maréchal. " we always valuedhis inheritance and we tried to build something strong. My father was one of the first ones to understand that in order to reach victory at the highest level, all the settings must be optimized, inside a " global system: it's understanding the system in its entirety ", as he used to say. The frame, the engine, the carburettor, the different characteristics of the circuit, the driver, the strategy, weather conditions... This is why it is necessary to know how to rise above the rest, and trying to have an overview so that the team, in its entirety, moves forward in the right direction ". Nevertheless, Olivier had to stop working for Marshal Motorsport. " Roberto Robazzi, the person in charge of the OTK group , came to see me to suggesting that I overtake the service department of the factory Kosmic and providing him with my structure.
It was obviously an opportunity that I could not let go, and I accepted it. After almost 10 years, things obviously evolved. We welcomed numerous pilots, we have a new developing structure for the Kosmic image. Finally, we participated in the prize list of the brand, with a victory in the 2012 World cup KF3 with Luca Corberi ". For Olivier Maréchal and all his entourage, it was a big recognition after all the successes acquired for the Tony Kart and Kosmic brands, but also a sign of confidence for one of the most competent team.
